Royal Blue Vase with Ruby and Gold lustres (3)
Working with clay for over 20 years, ceramicist Timothy White was first introduced to clay as a young teenager and immediately fell in love with the medium. Studying at the Victorian College of the Arts, he has exhibited around Victoria and more recently at the Other Art Fair in Melbourne in 2018 and 2019, with 2020 cancelled due to Covid-19. His work is held in numerous private collections and is available directly as well as through galleries.
Interested in the balance between the sculptural and the functional, Timothy’s work explores form and glaze. Preferring to work in Australian porcelains for their strength and versatility, his lustrous and often colourful glazes are the product of years of experimentation, each carefully developed in-house to present one of a kind pieces, which find their own place in spaces for living or working in.
This vase is a porcelain piece which has been handmade and wheel thrown. The vase has been fired at three times and the royal blue glaze is Tim’s own in-house blend with both ruby and gold lustre overlays. It is 17cm high x 22cm wide and weighs 1.5 kg. This item is available for collection in the Hobsons Bay area.
